I'm excited to share with you my adventures as I galavant around both near and far, exploring everyday adventures through my camera lens.
All in Home & Garden
Every spring we get the garden ready by tilling the soil and adding in a new layer of rich compost from our tumbler that we add to all winter. I usually attend the Friends Plant Sale and stockpile all of the plants and herbs I want, and get to planting! This year, however, things were different on many fronts - hello global pandemic! Hello, snowy spring! Hello, rotten planter! So we needed to make some changes!
If you’re new to working remotely, check out some of my favorite tips for a successful and productive work at home experience that I honed over nearly 10 years as a freelancer.
I first heard about the plant sale a few years ago when a friend of mine casually posted about it on Facebook. We had just built our backyard garden bed and I was excited to start growing! 5 years later, the Friend’s School plant sale has become one of our household traditions.
I should start with being honest. I've never done this before... This was my first attempt at syrup making. Before you immediately hit that little X and close this page, don't let that statement scare you away! If anything, you should be encouraged. If I, a complete and utter noob, can make this syrup, you can too. You'll probably be better at it, since I've already worked out the kinks for you!
You don’t need to grow your own ingredients from scratch to make pickles- that can just be 50 point to Gryffindor if you do. If you are purchasing your cucumbers, just make sure they are of a pickling variety if you plan to preserve them for more than a couple of weeks.
